Aschau is an idyllic mountain resort found in Zillertal. The name of the town comes from the extensive wetland areas found at the bottom of the valley; the name coming directly from Medieval Times. The valley is known for its ash trees, livestock, marshland, and the Ziller River. The town belongs to the Archdiocese of Innsbruck.

In addition, there are free ski buses that make the journey from Aschau to Hochzillertal and Zillertal Arena. No cars needed for this holiday as you can explore via the ski bus or the steam train. If you really wanted, you could also get to the Spieljoch ski area and any of the neighboring towns with ease.
