Aschau quite and nice village in Zillertal

Aschau is an idyllic mountain resort found in Zillertal. The name of the town comes from the extensive Aschu_in_Zillertalwetland areas found at the bottom of the valley; the name coming directly from Medieval Times. The valley is known for its ash trees, livestock, marshland, and the Ziller River. The town belongs to the Archdiocese of Innsbruck.

The hamlet lies between the ski areas of Hochzillertal and Zillertal Arena making it an optimal starting point for many winter excursions and slope days. Especially relevant is the charming ski hut Abfahrts that you find in the middle of the slope. In addition, there are free ski buses that make the journey from Aschau to Hochzillertal and Zillertal Arena. No cars needed for this holiday as you can explore via the ski bus or the steam train. If you really wanted, you could also get to the Spieljoch ski area and any of the neighboring towns with ease.
